I’m Balkan Karışman, a generative artist from Istanbul (1993) with a background in computer graphics and product design. I completed my undergraduate studies at Middle East Technical University in Product Design and later pursued multidisciplinary research in Game and Interaction Design at Istanbul Technical University starting in 2018.
I draw inspiration from urban textures, glitch aesthetics, and illusions—challenging mediums to merge analog and digital, past and future, real and surreal. I believe everything around us is natural and can serve both as a muse and as an instrument for creation. My work often begins with “what if?”—inviting curiosity about everyday surroundings and uncovering hidden connections between the mundane and the surreal.
Now based in Berlin, I collaborate with artists from diverse disciplines, exploring how technology can reshape perception without losing its human pulse.
